Meet Assia

As the principal consultant at ALV Connect, Assia Likomanov, has been providing strategic fund development and leadership support to local and national nonprofits for over 15 years. During her tenure at Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency, she raised $20+ million dollars to support basic needs programs for low income residents in Detroit and Wayne County. Assia’s fundraising career began at Wayne State University while she managed medical conferences and wrote grants for the School of Medicine. Her love of philanthropy flourished at Detroit Opera securing major gifts and corporate support uplifting art & culture initiatives in Detroit. Following her time in the arts, Assia became the Regional Development Director for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a national nonprofit, and raised millions to help cure childhood cancer.

Originally from Bulgaria and raised in Montreal, Assia immigrated to Southeast Michigan with her family and proudly holds a Bachelor's degree Communication Studies from the School of Liberal Arts & Sciences at Wayne State University. Go Warriors! In 2023, Assia was selected to participate in the Detroit Regional Chamber’s Leadership Detroit XLIII fellowship program (best class ever!) and was honored as a Mackinac Future Leader at the Mackinac Policy Conference. When she’s not raising money for social causes, Assia enjoys spending quality time with her two young daughters, her supportive husband and adorable dog Oscar.
